Pittsburgh Art Schools & Programs The arts are vitally important to Pittsburgh, a city that is proud to showcase its collections, whether at The Andy Warhol Museum, The Mattress Factory, or during a quarterly Gallery Crawl in the downtown Cultural District. Pittsburgh even has a $35 million African-American Cultural Center in the works. The 80,000-square foot facility is slated to open in the fall of 2007.

Pittsburgh’s art students have several options when it comes to choosing an art program. Those interested in studio arts or art history might consider a four-year program at the University of Pittsburgh or Duquesne University. Another option is the Art Institute of Pittsburgh for programs in animation, media arts, and game design.
